MY PRESENTATION
Here’s a simplified guide to CPR, covering the basis, why, when, and how
Basis
CPR is a lifesaving technique to maintain blood flow and breathing when someone’s heart stops beating or they’re unresponsive.
Why
CPR is crucial because it helps keep oxygen-rich blood flowing to the brain and other organs, reducing the risk of brain damage or death.
When
Use CPR when an adult, child, or infant is not breathing or responsive, and their blood is not circulating. This can be due to cardiac arrest, heart attack, choking, near-drowning, suffocation, poisoning, drug overdose, smoke inhalation, electrocution, or suspected sudden infant death syndrome.
How:
The steps for CPR are as follows:
1. Call 911 or ask someone else to call for help.
2. Lay the person on their back and open their airway.
3. Check for breathing. If they’re not breathing, start CPR.
4. Perform 30 chest compressions.
5. Perform two rescue breaths.
6. Repeat the cycle until an ambulance arrives or the person starts breathing.
Remember, CPR should only be performed by someone trained in the procedure. If you’re not trained, you can still help by calling 911 and following any instructions the dispatcher provides.
so you know! The above submission is Absolutely CORRECT!
VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE ON Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR
· While it’s important to perform CPR correctly, a poorly done CPR is still better than doing nothing at all.
· If someone’s heart has stopped beating, they are clinically dead and their brain cells are starting to die due to lack of oxygen.
· Every minute counts, and even imperfect CPR can help maintain some blood flow and oxygenation to the brain and other vital organs.
Thanks
In fact, the American Heart Association emphasizes that “hands-only CPR” (chest compressions only, without rescue breaths) is a viable option for bystanders who are not trained in traditional CPR or are uncomfortable with rescue breaths.
Even if CPR is not performed perfectly, it can still help save a life.
So, if you’re in a situation where someone’s heart has stopped, don’t hesitate to act! Call 911 or your local emergency number and start CPR to the best of your ability. Remember, something is better than nothing, and every effort counts in trying to save a life.
Thank you!
